Section 03
Shutdown triggers
OSC, MIDI, and keyboard can each be switched on or off. All three start off by default. A recognized input requests shutdown only when the separate Shutdown Triggers arm switch is on.
OSC from a show controller
- Choose OSC and turn its switch on.
- Use the displayed UDP port (default 8000), or enter another available port and press Apply port.
- Configure your controller to send
/showcentral/shutdownwith exactly one string argument matching the token shown in Show Central. - Send a test while disarmed and inspect Activity. Then arm only when ready.
OSC bundles are not supported. The token travels as plaintext UDP: use a trusted, isolated show network, not the public internet. macOS may ask for Local Network permission when OSC is first enabled.
MIDI from a controller
- Choose MIDI and turn its switch on.
- Select the MIDI source, channel 1–16, message type (Note On or Control Change), and note/CC number 0–127.
- For faster setup, press MIDI Learn and send the desired message. It listens to all available sources and fills in the source, channel, type, and number from the next nonzero Note On or CC.
- Test while disarmed; then arm when the mapping is correct.
If a device is not listed, connect it and press Refresh. MIDI input itself does not require Input Monitoring permission.
Keyboard shortcut
Choose KEYBOARD and turn its switch on. The initial shortcut is Control–Option–Command–S. To change it, press Keystroke Learn and press a key combination containing Control, Option, Shift, or Command. Input Monitoring is needed only to learn a keystroke made while another app is in front; the registered shortcut itself does not use that permission.
Before using any trigger in a show, check shutdown behavior and test a complete shutdown with noncritical work. Loading a configuration turns triggers off and disarms shutdown.
